The Federal State Rio Grande do Norte is on the very peak of Brazil. 550 km south of Fortaleza and 2.700 km north of Rio de Janeiro. From the airport, outside the capitol Natal, it is 85 km to the top kite spot in Barra do Cunhau ( www.barradocunhaubrasil.com).
The main wind season in Barro do Cunhau is from July till end of January. The strongest and most constant wind is from July till November with an average wind speed of 12 to 25 knots. December and January see wind speeds of 10 to 16 knots and this all with an 80 percent possibility of wind. The average kite size here is between 7 and 14 square meters... ;
